Social Club FAQ

Q: How much will Social Club cost?
A: Each Social Club outing will have a cost to attend based on the event.

Q: How will Social Club outings be determined?
A: Social Club events will be based on group interest/input, community events, season, and any other factors.

Q: When will Social Club outings occur?
A: Outings will occur monthly during the evening. Day of the week may vary.

Q: What if I am not interested in one of the Social Club outings?
A: That is okay! Participants sign-up for outings on a month-to-month basis, no long-term commitment required.

Q: Will transportation be provided?
A; Each Social Club will have a meet-up location. Transportation to the meet-up location is not provided. Carpooling with other participants can be arranged via Facebook Event pages created for each Social Club. Check us out on Facebook @BarrierFreeMD to locate event pages.

Q: Can my family members and friends register for Social Clubs?
A; The mission for Barrier-Free's Social Cub is to bring together individuals with disabilities to share a social/independent space. We would prefer to keep our social clubs focused on this intended mission therefore we ask that large groups of family members and/or friends not join us on Social Outings. One-on-one support staff/counselors can attend as needed.

Q: I don't have a disability, can I still attend Social Clubs?
A; Barrier-Free loves our mentors that keep our programs thriving! Mentors are typically developing individuals that want to support/join in on our work and mission by participating in any Barrier-Free program. To become a Barrier-Free mentor visit our Volunteer page. Mentors are needed for Social Clubs, Inclusive Theater Companies, classes, and more!
