It’s an exciting yet challenging time at Barrier-Free. As we prepare for our Inclusive Theater performances, we also launch our most important direct donation campaign of the year--The Purple Bucket Campaign.

But we’re not going to sugarcoat it--this year has been tough.

Rising costs of goods and services are impacting all of us, and Barrier-Free is no exception. We’ve faced grant funds drying up, reduced disability funding opportunities, and increasing operational costs. Simply put,
we need your support now more than ever to continue providing high-quality, inclusive arts programming for neurodivergent adults.

The campaign’s name pays homage to our early days when we didn’t even have a cash box to our name. Instead, a simple purple plastic bucket served as our makeshift register, collecting spare change as patrons purchased tickets. While much has changed since those days, one thing remains the same--our unwavering commitment to inclusion, creativity, and community.

This month, we invite you to be part of this vital tradition. Every donation, big or small, helps us fill our bucket—not just with funds, but with opportunity, connection, and the magic of theater.
Your support ensures that neurodivergent individuals have a stage, a voice, and a community where they belong. Please consider making a donation today and help us continue our work for inclusion and accessibility.

Robert & Ernestine Rodgers Scholarship Fund

Picture
At Barrier-Free, we believe in making inclusive theater accessible to all. That's why participants in our Inclusive Theater Companies have the opportunity to apply for the Robert & Ernestine Rodgers Scholarship. This scholarship aims to alleviate the financial burden of program fees, ensuring that talented individuals can fully engage in our transformative theater experiences.

We understand that affordability is essential, and we are dedicated to assisting families in exploring various funding options to cover program costs. Additionally, we work closely with families to establish mutually agreed-upon payment schedules or tuition rates, ensuring that no one is hindered from creating, expressing, and achieving with us.

Donate to the Scholarship Fund via the donation box at the top of the page.
